Llais newspaper obituary
« on: Thursday 05 November 09 22:39 UTC (UK) »

Found one of my grandmothers cousins obituary in a copy of Llais newspaper (South Wales Voice) dated 30 December 1950.

Im a bit confused about one or two things in the article. Firstly, whats an SLB? And secondly, what were 3 members of clergy doing officiating it? Isnt it normally 1 vicar or rector?

Anyone shed any light?

David.

Sounds like an army!

I belonged to 'The Girl's Brigade' when I was a child in South London.

I expect that it was an offshoot of the same organization...

I remember that we had to march around the streets behind a brass band once a month, wearing our uniforms. And this was in the 1960's!! I suspect that it no longer exists now.

Good to know that its still going! (As I recall, it was much like the Brownies).

They certainly don't march around the streets round here though...
