1909 from Liverpool Uk to Montreal?
« on: Friday 06 November 09 00:39 UTC (UK) »

Hi,
With the help of some kind people on this board I have found that 2 of my Great Uncles moved from Lancaster in the NW of England to Montreal in 1909

They went via Liverpool to Montreal and then shortly after seemed to move to Michigan.

They seemed to emigrate together ages 21 and 24.

I'm curious to know what might have caused them to make this massive journey and move from their large family in Lancaster at that time.

The youngest returned to Lancaster to visit their father in December 1923 and returning to US in Feb 1924.

I realise it's very hard to find the real reason they moved but I any ideas you can give are most welcome.

Thanks
Mike
