Offspring of Charles Edward MINNS died 1970
« on: Friday 06 November 09 06:50 UTC (UK) »

Hello,

I am treading warily here as if there are any children they may well be living.

Charles married Vera Joan Roach in Victoria in 1933 and he died in 1970.

I have no death for Vera. In 1949 they were on the electoral rolls for Bendigo and in 1954 for Henty. There is a faint possibilty that any child born in 1933 may be with them on the 1954 roll which I don't have access to.

Have checked the Ryerson Index and the NLAsite but I need to spend a lot more time there.

Can anyone suggest another way of locating any children?

regards

Robyn

Are you sure that is your Charles Edward MINNS?  He is the only MINNS at the addresses both years.

There is no death for a Vera Joan MINNS or just Vera Joan with father ROACH to 1985.

I think if you really want the information you will need his death certificate.  If it is the correct Charles, it would appear that they had separated.

Robyn you wrote you they were on the rolls - I can't find a listing for Vera Joan MINNS in 1949 or 1954 anywhere.

I see there is a ww2 enlistment for
CHARLES MINNS

He may be your man if the birthdate listed  16/4/1913 tallies with your information.
He enlisted in 1940 and at that time was in South Yarra Vic. and his Next of Kin was V Minns..

So are we perhaps looking for an early death for VERA?

Cando, Sue & JM,

My thanks for that information.

I will pass it on to the person (a fellow Arnold descendant) who requested my help. I had only a few minutes before I had to go out and  you have assisted greatly. It was not a line I had explored in depth.

I would assume that they had divorced and that she remarried. There is always a chance that he remarreid too.

The information is quite sensitive as any children may still be living and I have passed it all on with some links to where the information was obtained.

my indebited thanks
