William Hacket Family
« on: Friday 06 November 09 21:11 UTC (UK) »

I found a funeral card in my parents belongings for a Esther Hackett (died April 17 1885, age 18. I think I found her family William and Ann (Ward) Hackett. Siblings Charles-1873, Caroline-1878, Sarah-1859, John-1860, Edwin-1863, and Esther- 1867. Can any one trace this family from the 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891, census to give me clues as to where they lived and moved to. For some reason my Grandparents kept this funeral card and I'm trying to see if this ties into either the Pott, Dawson, Crossley, Bates, Matkin lines of our tree. It may have been the family was just neighbors prior to my grandparents and great grandparnets leaving England.

Charles  Gr Son  4  Staffordshire, Orgreave
Elizabeth  Gr dau  10 months  Staffordshire, Orgreave
Sarah Jane  Gr dau  4  Staffordshire, Orgreave

The Gr has been added later and it looks as though Charles & Elizabeth are probably John & Sarah’s children.  I’m assuming that Sarah Jane is William & Ann’s daughter as she is not with them.

Thanks for the posting. I'm not sure what would be most help full at this time but My Grandmothers side of the family came from the Alrewas and Stapenhill area. The family was Sarah Ellen Crossley who married a Edward Dawson, Sarah's mother was Hannah Crossley who married a William Toon. The other family it could be connected to is the Dawson's but they came from Derby area or Fletcher family There was another funeral card for two children with the names  Alice Rollins age 4 died April 17, 1877 and Emma Selina Rollins aged 16 months died April 28, 1877. Again I'm not sure if the families are related or just they were neighbors and friends that they all kept in touch after my grandparents came to Canada.
Some other info:
Hanna Fletcher died  Nov 16, 1889 age 74 years Interred at Alrewas church Nov. 20, 1889
Emma Fletcher died Aug 27th, 1873 aged 29 years, Interred at Alrewas  Aug. 31, 1873
Issac Fletcher died April 9, 1877 age 3 yrs, interred at Hockley April 15, 1877.
Frederick William hands died Feb. 15, 1876 age 8 months.
Caroline  wife of Frederick Hands died  Dec. 13, 1876 age 21 years.

Not sure if this is too much at once and if so feel to ask me specifics and I can tell you if I know or not.
