I'm having trouble making sense of the Sherlocks.  The 1861 census you found has her father, William, down as a seaman, yet on the marriage it says he is a clerk and deceased.  Can anyone find the 1871 and 1881 census for her father William?

Hi

What people say about their father or their father's occupation on marriage certificates can be notoriously unreliable. Some people chose to elevate their father's status and therefore their own by improving his occupation. Because of the fate of her mother she may also have wished to cover up some of her past.
