His medal index card is on Ancestry looks like a Gallipoli lad only in theatre 2 days before he died.
Also Irish Great War casualties on ancestry has the info you have

Right, you didn't say where marriage took place but you can still search 1911 census and then civil index (you should have an idea of his age).

English marriage certificates have a space for father's name and occupation as far as I know- is there a space for this on Michael's marriage certificate? and if so, is it blank/line drawn across the space/listed as deceased?
Is he in England for 1911 Census? if so, please say what age he is in it.
Have you checked the civil index for his birth registration? if so, did you find 1 or more possibilites or nothing?
