Can anyone help with this dilemma, I cannot find my great great grandfather Alexander Barron born Scotland 1853 or my great great grandmother Annie Barron nee Moore born Wicklow, Ireland 1852 in the 1911 Census, the last known address I have for them Eaton Road, Datchet, Nr Windsor, Berks. Then they appear to disappear? They would both be in their late fifties by then. I am trying to establish where they might be to tie in with WWI action for my great, great Uncle Alexander Barron born 1881 in Tower of London and my great grandad Donald Ernest Barron born Chelsea Barracks 1882. I also searched the 1891 census and could not find any of them either

1911 census for Ireland is also online but free so you can see if they were in Ireland at that time (Scotland's not released until 2011). www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search

Shellspacebabe Don't know if this helps but i had a look on the index of the 1911 census omitting the first name because it might be a shortened version of another name.My Grandmothers was Annie Baron Just remembered i cant give the info so i have taken it off
So, just enter the surname Barron and the birth year 2 asside it brings up some other barron as well.See what you think about Nannie
Celia forgot to say i also entered Ireland as her birthplace

Thank you Aghadowey, I searched the Irish 1911 Census neither of them listed so that rules out one line of enquiry

Hi shellspacebabe, I found an Annie Barron married to a George Hall or was it Forbes. He was a Butler and she was a servant in a big house near Aberdeen. around 1790 they married. Do not know if this helps. Hall, Barron and Forbes are family name interests of mine marcie

Hi Marcie, my grandmother was Annie Barron born 1912 her mother was Scottish Mary Marshall SMith and her father Donald Ernest Barron had a Scottish father (Alexander Barron) and an Irish mother. On the Barron side I have gone back as far as 1826 with Alexander Barron carpenter married to a Mary black 1823 so not sure if your Annie Barron is part of the same Barron Clan! its all very interesting if I find out more when I go back further I will update you

Could be a connection, I think the Barron's hailed from Lanark/Lanarkshire and Elgin in Rothes area of Scotland
