Help to read 1851 census please
« on: Saturday 07 November 09 10:38 UTC (UK) »

Please help, I have Maria Hackwell in 1851 living on Sutton Road in Mansfield, Notts.
Is it Hackwell ? it looks like Hucknall to me.
It is important as I am tracing the family of Joseph Flint b. 1850 who is shown as her grandson.

thanks      bigjon

I agree, and it's quite clearly Hucknall in 1841 as well  Smiley

Thanks duckweed
I have just tried Hucknall for the 1841 census and have found them.
How do we go about correcting that transcription mistake?

Thanks tati
is there any chance that you could find Joseph ( b.1850 ) in 1866. I have him in 1871 on Victoria St. Mansfield but can't find him in 1866.

1861, you mean?

There's a Joseph Flint age 12 at the Union Workhouse, with possible siblings Ann age 10 and Samuel age 7. (Try a search for Flin*)
