Miranda
« on: Saturday 07 November 09 12:55 UTC (UK) »

This is a picture of my grandmother taken in the early 1920s and i would really appreciate it if it could be cleaned up and had some colour added, from what i know about her, her eye colour was brown.

Kind Regards

Hi,

Very quick one as PShop is showing only scanned at 72dpi.

A rescan at 300dpi will enable us to give you a much better result.

What a beautiful photo, is there any chance you can rescan at 300 dpi?

Cheers

Yes, because it's only 22 kb, and when restorers enlarge it to work on it, this is what they see... Tongue

Are you sure it's a 1920s photo? The outfit your grandmother is wearing is much more 1910ish...by the end of the war, all that lacy stuff and the high collar had pretty much disappeared. Just a thought.

The necklace she has on would fit right in today, though Smiley

Cheers,
China (no relation Grin)

First of all i've got to say what beautiful restores from morrie & carolyn, you try to imagine what these old photo's might look like in colour and these look wonderful, thankyou. Cheesy.

As far as i know china, my old mum told me the photo was taken shortly after Miranda's first husband died in 1919 Huh

Do you mind skippy & caz if i rescan it in a few days time as i've had to order a new printer/scanner, the one i've been using has just decided it's had enough and refuses to go any further Angry Angry

Thankyou to all of you for your work on this photo.

No problem at all and when you do, would you mind reposting it on this thread so Skippy and I can find it again, and anyone else that would like to have a go at a 300 scan of course.  It's such a beautiful photo, but I'd much prefer to wait for the better scan.

Kind regards
Caz
