Wondered if any of you great restorers could please piece this photo back together of my great grandad.

If any of you also get the chance a clean and a colour please.

I just don't know how you manage to do it especially when part of the photo is missing.

This chap wouldn't look out of place from 1890-1920.
As this is a cabinet card on black cardstock I think earlier than 1910.
He doesn't have the starched collar poular later in the decade so I'm
now down to 1890-1905.
No creases in his trousers which became the norm during the 90's,so
somewhere in that decade I would suggest.

Great one Jim,

We weren't too convinced on a date ourselves (thought possibly 1910 - 1920) but have a photo of my great grandad in 1907 looking rather portly with a moustache....so we then questioned whether the photo was the same man....and as you think the photo was taken in the 1890s then the ident by my aunt is correct (he was born in 1875)
