1901 Census William John Laker
« on: Saturday 07 November 09 16:43 UTC (UK) »

Please can anyone assist me.. I have spent the past 3 years looking for my paternal grandfather William John Laker (born in Shoreham Sussex circa 1869), and his wife Elizabeth Ann Green in the 1901 Census for the areas Croydon/Godstone/Caterham Valley....

They married in 1898 Bethany Hall, Croydon Road, Caterham. Proven by Marriage Cert..and as far as I am aware they remained in the County of Surrey.....

Their eldest daughter Elizabeth Fanny Laker was born in 19th April 1899 Caterham. Proven by Birth Cert.

The oldest son James Edward Laker was born 2nd March 1901 9 Purley Road Croydon. Proven by Birth Cert.

Other siblings were born after the 1901 Census.......

I have the parents of Elizabeth Ann Green in the 1901 Census living at 9 Purley Road Croydon, but no sign of any of the Lakers, and would have thought at least James Edward Laker would be somewhere, but no joy......

Maybe another pair of eyes, might see something I have missed.

Would be grateful for any input at all.....

Thank you for your time......

Hi paco, thank you for replying to my message, yes did find them finally on the 1911 Census at 80, Commonwealth Road Caterham. and printed out, but nowhere else, James Edward Laker should have been listed at the same address 9 Purley Road as per birth cert., as his mother Elizabeth Ann nee Green parents were on the 1901 Census....

Another brickwall for me Cry
