1861/71 census please MCGOVERN
« on: Saturday 07 November 09 17:08 UTC (UK) »

Hi, Could somebody look up Patrick and Bridget Mcgovern (Bridget born Tipperary possibly), both were born between 1830-5 and living in Lancashire, later on definately Manchester area.  On the 1871 Census there should be at least two children with them - Michael born 1861 and Anthony born 1866, both born Hulme/Chorlton area.

Thank you

Thanks for the quick reply Mo, it is interesting to find out she was widowed by then and quite a big gap between the childrens ages for that time.

Thanks again Mo, interesting as Bridgets maiden name is Mulhair, must be a relative and at last I confirm Patrick was born in Ireland aswell and can try and find a death for him - he died quite young!!, don't suppose I can be really cheeky and find out if they are about in 1851, I think they were married in about 1853, so they might not be together or even in england yet.

Much Appreciated

Hi Marg,

I can`t see them on a normal search of the 1851 not can I find them on the "unfilmed" indexes.  As you probably know the 1851 for Manchester and surrounding areas was badly water damaged during storage.
