COMPLETED - Burough of Ogwr
« on: Saturday 07 November 09 17:59 UTC (UK) »

This is a picture of a relative (who I cut out) in front of a sign in Wales.  I believe this was where my great-grandmother lived when she was little.  Can anyone tell me what the sign says or where this is?

I looked it up and the only word I was able to get any understanding from was Ogwr.  It said that the Borough of Ogwr only existed from 1974 to 1996, so obviously well after my great-grandmother's youth.  Is my Americanness shining too brightly when I say that I don't really understand the geography in Wales?   Cheesy

Hello there.
The sign shows the english translation and the welsh translation.
The Borough of Ogwr ( named after the river) is in the districts of Mid Glamorganshire.
Bridgend, Ogmore and Garw, Porthcawl.
Hope this helps
