Thomas and William PARNELL - Wendling, Norfolk
« on: Saturday 07 November 09 21:59 UTC (UK) »

John Parnell married Sarah Wiggett in Wendling, Norfolk on 15 October 1811.

I believe they had seven children, the youngest being Thomas (born 6 May 1823 and baptised 8 May 1823 in Wendling) and William (born 15 December 1825 and baptised 18 December 1825 in Wendling).

I can't find any further information on Thomas and William. Can anyone find them in censuses? Can anyone find marriages or deaths / burials for them?

Do you know that they both survived infancy?

I have checked the Burial Records (including BTs) for Wendling at the NRO and could not find burials for them. However, the Parish records for Wendling are not in good condition and some years appear to be missing.

They were the youngest two children in the family and the family was poor. There is, therefore, for example a likelihood that they left home before 1841 to find work.

Sounds like you've done all you can with Wendling then. As you say, they probably moved on for work, maybe someone will come back with something yet.
