COMPLETED Remove my own fact from Ancestry Overview
« on: Sunday 08 November 09 12:18 UTC (UK) »

I entered my own 'fact' erroneously to the overview of a person.  I need to remove it but cannot see how.  If it was a census fact or BMD fact there is no problem.
Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you solve it?
Thanks,
Abiam

Hello

If you mean that you have added an event (fact) which appears in the Timeline for a particular person, you can click on the (green) heading for that event and then, on the editing page which appears, click on the red cross at the top right to "Remove this event"

Hello,
It is difficult to explain!  It is not an Ancestry hint but something I have added and cannot remove.
Below is a photograph, I hope,.
This shows the first 1881 entry which is correct and the second 1881 which should be in his wife's Overview.  My fault entering it on the wrong person.  I have emailed Ancestry but that could be a long wait!

Hope the picture is there,
Abiam

This looks like a computer glitch at their end.  The "easiest" way to fix it would be to delete the person, and re-enter them.  Make sure you have all the details at hand to do that, though.  I assume you've tried clicking on the little dot on the entry (the one above the G in George),  to try to open it ?  If you can open it, you can then delete it.

Hi

Have you tried clicking on the tab at the top which says Facts and Sources it comes up with the full list. I had a look on mine and was able to edit what I had put.

Thank you Nick.  I hadn't clicked on that little mark and when I did it went to the actual fact and I was able to remove it via the red cross!
And thanks Evie for your suggestion.  That just brought up the censuses that were correct.
All done and dusted now, thanks again,
