John Pyne Southwark area 1851
« on: Sunday 08 November 09 16:02 UTC (UK) »

Grateful to plug a gap on my G G Grandfather John Pyne. He was born in 1835 in Nailsea Somerset. He was still there in 1841, but by 1851 , his father Fred , a blacksmith had moved to South London  and lived in Southwark though John was not at home in the 1851 census. Am interested to see where he was and what if anything was his occupation at that point

In 1853, John married an Ann Cummins in Waterloo and his address on the marriage cert was Vine Street. He took up his fathers profession of smith, but interestingly in 1861 described himself as a photographic artist!

By 1871 he was back as a  blacksmith

Thanks

Jeremy
