I started with Frontpage, found it difficult to "control", it kept changing layouts, adding code I didn't need , etc, etc.
I then tried a 30 day trial version of Dreamweaver. Much nicer to use , but, still difficult sometimes, to make it do exactly what I wanted ......
In the end I switched to straight HTML. It's more work, but it does exactly what I want it to do !
Other considerations: Dreamweaver is much. much dearer then Frontpage, an ordinary editor (for HTML) comes free with Windows !
One other point: unless you simply upload a "pre-fabricated" website from a Family History Program, or use a Content Management System, then forget any of these "website in a few clicks ..." type of hype !
There is a (steep) learning curve, but once you are there --- then Whow, this is fun !!!
ps: there are a couple of links on this board for tutorials for Dreamweaver and Frontpage.
