HI, Does anyone have any information on the Tooley family please?
I have traced them back to 1718, they started off in Bletchingdon then Handborough. My gt, gt, gt, gt grandfather Henry Tooley came from a family of 6, most of his siblings married and had families but there is very little information on them.
Thanks Lynn

My mother is a Tooley from Boston in Lincolnshire. As far as I know (I'll have to ask her) they have been in Boston for many generations, so I don't know if they would connect to your family.
In St Botolphs church (in Boston) there are some memorials to Tooleys (dating back to the 1600's I think), so these may be of interest to you.
Regards,
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,
My grandfather was born in Linconshire, but it was Handborough.
Most of them came from Oxford, the early ones come from Bletchingdon. It would be interesting to see the memorials.

Hi Pennie, Thankyou so much for that information, some of it i did have ie the baptisms but i didnt have the rest.
On the burials you have Henry 5th Nov 1848-- does it say where he was buried, as i was wondereing if he was buried in the same churchyard as william.
You mentioned the woodwards, that would be interesting as I do have some info on them but not that much. would love to see some of that info.
Thanks again for all your help.
Lynn
