Alnwick castle employees

I have been told that my great grandmother, Jane Crowther (nee McCloud/Mcleod) worked as a cook in Alnwick Castle between 1910 - 1915. How do I go about finding out if this is true? Is there any way of finding out employment records etc?
Or do you think I should get in touch with the Duke of Northumberland? Is that allowed?

I should write to the archives dept at Alnwick Castle and ask them what details they have of past employees and if they don't have them they will tell you where they are.   They must have a secretary who deals with that sort of enquiry.  It will only cost you a stamp!   A lovely place to work!

Thanks, i'll give that a try. I'm almost certain that a place like Alnwick castle would of kept employment records! Fingers crossed!
