Morning all, I have an Emily Page aged 48 and married in 1881 staying at The George Inn Shalford. I also have a burial record 8 th November 1886 when she was aged 55 - at Gt Saling - St James the Great.
I wanted to see if she was connected by marriage to Harriett Page bc 1814 (m. George Tanner circa 1832) Harriett's father Edward Page and mother Lydia had a 50 acre farm and I am looking for some one who may have inherited part of the farm. George Tanner suddenly owned 35 acres in 1871.
Emily Page aged 48 in 1881 is the sister of Sarah Bearman aged 64 innkeeper of the George, Shalford 1881. Maiden name was Amey and you will find them in 1841 Bocking........Sarah aged 20 and Emily aged 9. Sarah Amey married Thomas Bearman in 1866 Braintree.....he being a widower at the time, she a spinster!. In 1841 the Amey's lived next door to the Bearman's! so they knew one another way before they married!
Emily (nee Amey) married Henry Page in the June qtr of 1877....Braintree R.D...it would appear that she was a spinster as well!..........you will find the pair of them (sisters) living together as "unmarried" dressmakers aged 44 and 29 in Bocking in 1861......
You will find Henry Page (born Boxted) in the census of 1861 at the Cock Beer Shop in Rayne, Essex, he is 46 years old a widower as well as being a publican and he has 5 children with him........Rose 20, Harriet 17, Charles 13, Emily 10 and Sarah 5.
