Searching for the descendents of Freeman/Afford families of Barnsley

Hi I was wondering if anyone who lives in Barnsley would know the descendents of these people or  would know some one in the area who would know the information.

Looking for the marriages and descendents of Harry Freeman(1873), Joseph Freeman (1880) Wilfred Freeman (1886) and Percy Camplin Afford (1895) who lived on Milton Street, in the 1901 census of Barnsley Wombwell Yorkshire.

Can I suggest you send a letter to the Barnsley Chronicle??  I'm about to do this - don't know how successful it'll be but have been told it can be extremely helpful.  There's also the Barnsley Family history Society but  I tried them a couple of times and didn't get a reply.
