A quick look at the 1871 cenus shows the following family with connections to Fakenham Suffolk
Norah Want
Tam Want (Wife)
Franics Want (Head) living in Kent
Goold
Daniel Goold age 52 born Fakenham Suffolk with wife Susan
and an Emma Gould age 18 working as a servant.
If you want more details let me know.
On my records there are 92 Goold born Suffolk on the 1871 census
14 Want's born suffolk
91 Gould born Suffolk

Noticed your reply to the Fakenham Magna question, I have visited this village on family connection, and only a few miles from where i live, but only just the other day via an old letter, noticed the address as Little Fakenham, I had always thought that the two were the same, would you know if Little Fakenham has its own church, as i know Fakenham Magna does.

You might want to also search the surronding villages in this area, as on my family connection found various family members at other nr by church yds, such as Honington, Sapiston etc.........

PLace Little Fakenham into a search on Multimap, and you will find it, zoom in and it will turn into Fakenham Magna.
Yet visiting the area, no one has heard of Little Fakenham there.
Wierd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I needed to also clear this one up, as i am looking for a family member in Fakenham Magna, although a last address was given as Little Fakenham.

Hi Keith, thanks for your reply. In your info you have Mary Stevens Goold b 1805 marrying William Want.
Hopefully this will not get too confusing but here's what I have. Ann Stevens Goold b 1822, died 1891 Grafton, NSW married 26.12.1844 Fakenham Magna to William Want [b 1819, died 1908 Grafton, NSW]. Children - Sarah b 1845, Miles b 1848, Anne b 1851, Edward b 1854, Elizabeth b 1861 and William b 1864. The last two being born in NSW.
I have Mary marrying William Browning 12.04.1825 in Horningsheath or Herringer, Suffolk. I have found 5 children so far the first being born in 1840 which seems a bit odd to me if they were married in 1825. Maybe there's more but I just haven't found them.
I was given this info from the Fakenham 1851 census from another kind rootschatter
GOOLD
Daniel, age 34, born Fakenham
Miles, age 48, b Fakenham
Edmund, age 72, b Rymer
Sarah, age73, b Fakenham
WANT
Miles, age 3 born Fakenham
Sarah, age 6, b Fakenham
Ann, age 28, b Fakenham
William, age 30, b Fakenham
NSW assisted immigration has William and Ann Want migrating to Australia on the 'Castilian' in 1858 with children Sarah age 13, Miles age 10, Ann age 7 and Edward age 4.
I have Sarah Stevens chr 20.12.1788 Fakenham Magna and her parents as John and Sarah.
It gets a whole lot more confusing on my side [well it's my hubbies actually] as Anne Want b 1851 [the daughter of William Want and Sarah Stevens Goold] married John Want b 1842 [the son of James Samuel Want and Hannah Maria Baldery]. William and James were brothers. I have a bit more info on the Wants if you want it.
I guess this genealogy wasn't meant to be easy but it certainly is time consuming - especially with this lot .
