Hi Sparkles,

Welcome to RootsChat.

Probably the question should be
"any one know if there is anything historically significant about my branch of the avery family",
which means we need more data.

However, for starters, try Google !

I entered "avery family" and got 1.250.000 (!) hits including

Surnames: Avery Family Genealogy Forum Also see. Avery Family Genealogy
genforum.genealogy.com/avery/

and:

Avery-Palmer-Page-Lawrence-Morse-Farnsworth Family Narrative
The AVERY Family According to "The Groton Avery Clan" (EM Avery & CH Avery-1912),
Thomas AVERY, a blacksmith and the progenitor of the Portsmouth (NH) Branch ...
members.aol.com/sbmerk/family/averynarrative.html

and:

The Avery Family Tree. The Avery's. The Avery family connected to the Cook family,
originate in Tedburn St Mary, Devon, not far from Exeter. ...
hometown.aol.co.uk/outbackhippies2/ myhomepage/wishlist.html

etc, etc.

I also tried "avery family kerry" but got too many for Senator Kerry

So, for starters, have a root around through Google and then come back and tell us more about your Avery family.

Good luck
Bob
