1851 is not clear is it? Firstly the writing (I think Charles is 17 and Walter possibly 1 month, though not sure, rather than 7 and 11)
but also on the relatiionships - they are all listed as sons and daughters of the head -  but at 74 I reckon Mary was only the mother of Ellen (40 and unmarried) and none of the others!

You say you have the childrens christennigs, who were their parents?

Sorry to be asking more questions, but can you tell us the christening you have? NAme, date parents etc.

By 1861 the family that we can see in 1851 is unlikely to be together -  the 'children'/ grandchildren (if age 11 and 7, not if younger) will be off and Jane probably married. Old Mary will probably have died, as for Ellen she could have married.
So as none of them are to be found easily, then as much info as pos will help in the search!

I can see why Liz  is asking for this, here's what I've found:
There are no Litt(er)ell's listed on:
BMD/births;IGI or NBI;Hugh Wallis batches for Claines or St.Martin's & there are only about 5 listed on the whole of the census 1841-1901.Which means this looks like a mistranscription.
Where has this info come from?Have you anything else that verifies this name?

It looks more like LITHELL than Litterell to me.

Could this be the Elizabeth and son Charles in 1871?

1871 census: Birmingham, Warwickshire (Ref: RG10/3114, Folio 38, Page 24)
Elizabeth Lithell, Head, W?, 65?, Plain Sewer, Worcester
Charles Lithell, Son, Unm, 26, Strip Caster, Worcester

No other obvious ones stand out. I think Charles could be spelled Lythall in 1881. But as Liz said more info is needed about the baptisms, etc. to continue any further on this.

Yes it is LYTHALL.

If you check the IGI there is a child born to Elizabeth LYTHALL:
Charles LYTHALL, 30 Aug 1844, St. Martin Worcester

Elizabeth was born 1805 as originally posted, surname LYTHALL.

Since you knew this, it would have been better to post with this surname rather than the one mistranscribed in one census.

I can't see any of them in 1861. Also, I'm not sure whether all the children on the 1851 census were really born Lithells...there are no L*th*l births in Worcester on FreeBMD for what I can see (except Charles 1844). And in 1851 the Ellen may actually be Eliza...though it's hard to read.

Hope this helps.
