JAMES SPEIRS was born in 1838 in Falkirk ,Stir.,Scot
He had a youger brother JOHN born 1840 and sister JANET born 1842.
I believe that John died young and is buried there...somewhere.
I would like to confirm the birth place of John and Janet,if possible.
Also death date of the child John.

I have an Andrew Speirs married to Jane (Jean) Muirhead 22 Sept 1837 parish of Denny Stirling,
Died Sept 8 1855 Bannackburn
Five Children
(1) Richard Speirs - born 1848 Bannackburn, died 1887 married Mary Clydesdale of Glasgow
(2) James Speirs
(3) Andrew Speirs
(4) Mary Speirs
(5) John Speirs
Is your James the second child? The John is younger than your James and not the other way round

Audrey..many thanks.Yes I did get that info and cert. on James Speirs.
His younger brother John Speirs I have listed as Chr Aug 30 1840 in Scot but no place,is listed,probably my oversite many moons ago.
He died in Scot young,cannot find anything yet on that,but it would be pre 1843/4
Then there was a sister Janet born May 3 1842 in Scot...probably Stir for both.
Then the family came to Canada and the couple had 3 more children..the rest is history.
We all seem to put our "brickwalls" on the back burner and then occasionally go back and turn up the heat.

The following details may just be a co-incidence?
They were taken from the burial records of Dennyloanhead Parish Church.
Janet Spiers died 15.06.1836 aged 6 weeks at Longcroft
John Spiers died ??.08.1841 aged 2 months at Hollybank
William Spiers died 09,10,1845 aged 10 months at Hollybank
Longcroft is side by side to Dennyloanhead and Hollybank is about 1 mile along the road and is now more broadly known as Banknock.
There is no relationships or any other details of who might have been the parents of these children, neither is there an existing stone (if there ever was one). This church is in the process of being converted into flats ( http://www.jadhomes.co.uk/church.html )
If you have a wee look at some local maps for the Denny area, you'll see how close all the villages are. Dunipace Old Churchyard and Denny Cemetery, which we talked about some time ago, is where other members of the Spottiswood Family are bured.

The 1841 census index ....in the Civil Parish of Denny we find this household with the address of Longcroft....
