Here's this weeks Scavenger Hunt.......I hope you can help Jackie, I know she's been searching a long time for this bloke     ;D

Good Luck and Good Hunting

Barbara

                            **********************************

Samuel TWISS married twice.
1.   Betty PILLING on 25 June 1783 at Saint Peters, Bolton, Lancashire
2.   Mary COOPER on 8 Sep 1800 at same place.

Samuel and Betty had 7 children.
Their 6th child, also named Samuel, married a Frances ROTHWELL on 17 April 1809 at St. Oswald's CofE, Winwick Parish.
I have no other details on Frances.

Samuel and Frances had 4 children that I know of.
1.   Betty TWISS b. 5 July 1809
2.   Joseph TWISS b. 1816 Newton Le Willow, Lancashire
3.   Samuel James TWISS b. 1820 Newton Le Willow, Lancashire
4.   James TWISS b. 24 Jan 1823 Winwick, Lancashire

Samuel TWISS and Mary COOPER had only 1 child.
Jesse TWIST….b. 1 Nov 1802 at Bolton-Le-Moors, Lancashire. Died Australia.
Jessie married a Hannah (Anne) ROTHWELL on 6 April 1834 at Whitefield, County of Prestwich, Lancashire.
Hannah b. 1 Nov 1811 at Ramsbottom, Lancashire was the daughter of Peter ROTHWELL and Hannah LORD.  She died in Australia and buried with her husband.
Peter and Hannah had 3 other children:
1.   Richard ROTHWELL b. 16 June 1807 Bolton.  Died Australia
2.   James ROTHWELL
3.   Jesse ROTHWELL
No other details are known.

Two ½ brothers married ROTHWELL ladies.

My puzzle is: Who is Frances ROTHWELL?  Is she related to Hannah?  Who are her parents?  When was she born and where?

There is a Frances Rothwell c. 6th December 1890 in Birch in Rusholme, Lancs according to the IGI.  It is an extracted record - C033301  Parents are John and Betty Rothwell.

Also according to the Nat Trust 1881 surname distribuition maps, Rothwell is a Lancashire name and still seems to be based there with a particular distribution in the Bolton Area.
