I notice on this map it has alot of places with Hall on the end, could you explain why?
I was told my family live in Edwards Hall but no one has heard of it. (It was not in Flintshire, I just thought this was interesting that they use alot of Hall.)

Not online but I would recommend the Digital Archives Association maps of Denbighshire and Flintshire.

The DVD has the first edition 6-inch map from 1869-1875 as well as the second edition for the main towns at 25-inch.  I keep them in my external hard disc so that I can access the maps quickly.

If you look closely at the map just the the left of the name HOLYWELL you can see Holywell Racecourse. This was an important racecourse of the time before Aintree in Liverpool. Prestigious visitors included Queen Victoria who was supposed to have lost a diamond ring near the grandstand. The racecourse closed down about the 1860's and can still be walked around mostly also there is a bridal path. A horse called Pickpocket won there in 1831 and also won the Chester cup in 1833.
