Yes before you all start taking the mickey, I know I'm moderator on this board and I should be answering questions on here rather than asking them!
But could someone give me some expert advice?
When I open several internet explorer windows, the first four can be seen on the task bar and it is quite easy to switch from one to the other. Once I open the fifth window all five of the windows 'disappear' into one button on the task bar.
Is there a way of specifying that more individual windows buttons can be separately shown on the task bar?
Looking forward to the witty / sarcastic comments almost as much as the answer!
Cheers
Ticker

This happens to me too - exclusive to XP? It's very annoying - especially when I have to leave messenger running (another window) in the background for the kids to know when any of their friends log in!

Hi Ticker,
Don't know the answer to that one but why don't you try using Firefox browser. You can open several sites in one window using the tabbed browser.
You can download it from http://www.mozilla.org/
It's free to use and free from hassle. Has a pop up stopper and other useful features.
Cheers Rob

Hi Rob
Thanks. I have thought about using Firefox. Maybe that is the answer.

Hi Ticker,
I am also a firefoxer, at home !
At work we have MS Internet Explorer, which I have changed for something called CrazyBrowser, which also has a pop-up stopper and tabbed browsing.
But be warned, whateve you use, some sites will "complain". Even my own website, which is straight HTML comes out differently on all three browsers.
The best bet is probably to install Firefox as well as IE and then if you have difficulties, you can have some sites in one browser, and others in a second.
Incidently, I find tagged browsers are the BEST ! I will often hold down shift, when I click on a topic, to open it in a new tab, then it really is easy to change from one tab to another to compare & contrast, or copy & paste, etc.
Good luck, Bob
PS: as I understand it, Moderators are human too; they don't know everything, and if they they have a problem, they ask !
- or am I missing something

Hi Ticker,
Had another look at this one.
You can disable the "Group similar taskbar buttons" by right clicking on the taskbar, clicking properties and un-checking the "Group similar taskbar buttons" option.
Cheers Rob
