My great great grandfather, Edwin Perkins arrived in Plymouth in the mid 1850's with his wife Caroline(Spark), from Exeter. Edwin was born at Upton Pyne in 1835.

By the time of the 1861 census Edwin had an established business as a Cab Proprietor and over the next five decades he operated in the Summerland Terrace/Place/St area of Plymouth.His two sons, Edwin Ernest and Frank Velvin and their sons were to share in the business.

Edwins sister Ellen married Isaiah Withecombe in 1865 and also operated cabs /coaches etc in Plymouth.

I would be very interested to make contact with any descendants of the family or indeed the subsequent families of
