The Brown Families!
« on: Wednesday 19 May 04 16:06 BST (UK) »

Desperately seeking Brown contacts from Essex and Southend area in particular.  Information that I have so far is -

My g grandfather was William John Brown b.1872 in Paglesham.  His parents were William Samuel Brown and Louisa Ann Brown nee Hedgley.

My g grandmother was Florence Emily Brown b.1883 in Southend area.  Her parents were William Brown b.1836 d.1912 and Rachel Brown nee Cook b.1842 d.1926, both buried in the Southend Borough Cemetery.

As you can see I have a Brown who married a Brown so it has become a little complicated to make any connections  when researching such a common name.

William John and Florence Emily Brown were married in Southend in year 1900.  They immigrated to Australia with their daughter, my grandmother, Florence Alice Louise Brown around 1901.

I have never been able to make a connection with side of my family tree so far, so I'm hoping for a change in luck with this message. Roll Eyes

Hi Mozzie / Jaq

If you click on the link in Jaq's message (browns_rochford_1851txt) - it comes up with a long list of names in another window

Hello jaq,

I'm finding it a little complicated to navigate this website for the first time, so I hope that I'm doing everything correctly!  Thanks so much for the 1851 census (Rochford) information.  I shall browse through just as soon as I finish sending this message to you.  Yes please, I would be very interested in the Essex 1881 and 1891 census information.  I was just so pleased with your reply as it is the first positive exchange that I have had with the Brown family research.  Thank you!
