ROGER/RODGER,JOHN c1751-1835

I am seeking further info to my research of JOHN ROGER born c1751 and died 1835 in Kilconquhar,Fife.
He was married to MARGARET FORBES born c1755 and died in 1836 in Kilconquhar.
Name of cemetery would be great.
This couple was married in Leuchars,Fife in 1780.
I have 7 known children,with associated surnames of :BRUCE,MILLER and KEY/KAY(?)
Knowing that they were married in Leuchars leads me to believe that Margaret Forbes was probably from that area.
Using the children's names and order of birth...it is possible that Margaret's parents could have been:Alexander,Catherine,Margaret.
John's parents could have been James,Harriet,Catherine.
Does this family ring a bell with anyone?
Any info. very much appreciated.

I have been trying to find a David Rodger/s born 1852/5(keeps changing his age on census) possibly Kerrimuir his father was also David a Miller by occupation there was also a brother Peter born about 1860.  David and Peter came to Jarrow Co Durham by 1880 but I can't connect them together in my Scotland search.   Regards June

I saw your request on Friday just as I was leaving to go to Kilconquhar.
Had a walk around the graveyard there didn't find your grave but there was 3 for Rodger as follows. The present church was built around 1820's after the Church of Kinneurhar was taken down in 1821.There was quite a few graves from the 1830's but sad to say some have broken and some are unreadable. I hope some these stones may help?

Rodger: In memory of their children John who died 17March 1849 age 4, David who died 8 July 1870 age 7years 10 monthes.Elizabeth died 11 November 1875 age 33. Their remains are interred in Dalry cemetery Edinburgh.
James died 26 March 1878 age 30, Christina Rodger died 12 Sept 1889 age 72 and John Anderson who died 5th Dec 1891 age 80 and mother of the above named.


Rodger: Agnes Pearson wife of Alexander Rodger died 6th March 1867 age 79 also Alexander Rodger  30 July 1868 age 81 their daugther Agnes 4th Jan 1902 age 75 their daughter Margaret widow of James Randall died 25 Aug 1815 age 87.


Roger: Allan Andrew Roger
           7/2/1939 - 18/10/1964
           and his father
           Allan Roger
            8.4.1911 - 17th Sept 1993
           and his mother Agnes Allan 26 july 1912 - 21 Aug 1994

Hi again. Are you sure about the Marriage in Leuchars?

There is a marriage in the kilconquhars records for a marriage between a Margaret Forbis and a John Rodger on 2 Jun 1780.
The fathers name was John and mothers maiden name of Webster!!
There were quite a few stones for Forbis in the church yard - sorry didn't write them down . Will do it next time !!

Hi again

Found a couple of entries in the Parish records.

1: John Roger christening 20 Oct 1782 Kinconquhar Parents are listed as John Roger and Margaret Forbis both of this parish.

2: John Roger Birth 20 Dec 1751 Christening 22 Dec 1751 at Kilconquhar Parents listed as John Rodger and Catharine Anderson.
