Could anyone point me in the right direction please.
I have a relative, Napper Challen, who drowned in August 1855 in Donnington (nr Chichester) - there was an inquest and I would like to see any newspaper coverage of the death and inquest. But I haven't had any luck on the serach engines and thought somebody on theis forum would be able to help.
Kindest regards Lewy

I know this has nothing to do directly with your enquiry, but I just had a quick look on A2A and there is a document listed on there which I assume relates to your ancestor. There can't be too many Napper Challens in the area of Donnington at the time, so it looks like him
http://www.a2a.org.uk/search/documentxsl.asp?com=1&i=0&nbKey=1&stylesheet=xsl\A2A_com.xsl&keyword=napper%20challen&properties=0601
It looks like the only one listed on the site which relates to him. The document is listed at West Sussex Record Office in Chichester

Thanks Glen - ironically there are two Napper Challen's that I've found so far!! Hope there are no more! Napper Senior's dad maried a Sarah Napper and they decided to make it a family name! Handy when you're researching the family tree to have such an unusual name!
I've written to West Sussex to find out more about that document - thanks very much for the lead.
