Am looking for marriage record of: William Fuller b. ca 1796, Letcombe Bassett (according to the 1841 census) Mary (?) b. ca 1796, Grove (also according to the 1841 census)
First child appears to have been born ca. 1816 (1841 census) but the relationship listed may be off. Other children born starting 1821.
Any help is much appreciated! Thank you, Linda

Linda,
Are you sure about the dates ?, what census are you looking at, as the 1841 doesn't show places of birth only In or Out of County.
I have William listed on the 1851 census as aged 68 and Mary aged 65 (their birthplaces match your listing.

Hi Harry, Thanks for looking, much appreciated. Yes, you're right... I posted before I double checked my file on William, so was going on my very fallible memory.
I have a copy of the 1851 census page that Mary & William are listed on and a quick calculation tells me that William would've been born ca. 1783 and Mary born ca 1786.
But I also have a copy of the 1841 census and they are both listed as being 45 years of age, hence the 1796 year of birth I'd mentioned.
Based on the family members listed in each census and other data that I have, I'm fairly certain it's the same family.
So, to answer your question... both sets of dates are very different. Any suggestions on how best to find William & Mary's marriage?

Hi Ray, Unfortunately, I have no idea what her maiden name was.... one of the reasons I was hoping to locate a marriage record... it was a long-shot.
But, they had a daughter named Hannah baptized in 1808? I was unaware of her - and the 1810 & 1813 baptisms as well. Do you have their names? Hmmm...I'm not sure what you mean by (privately)... a private baptism? Do you know why would the family do that and what records would have recorded it?
The family members I have information on are: William b. ca 1816 (1841 census) Isaac b. ca 1821 (1841 census) Alfred b. ca 1826 (1841 census) Eliza b. ca 1816 (1851 census) Harriet b. 1825 (have baptism record for her - my gg-grandmother) Caroline b. 1829 (have baptism record for her) Charles b. 1830 (have baptism record for him)
You've been very kind in taking the time to look for me... I really appreciate it. Thank you very much! Linda
