Hi Mary,
The 1901 census is available at the PRO in Belfast. I have a long list of searches to do on my initial visit I'll see how that goes and may well make a regular visit so at this stage I'll just say I've made a note of your query and see what I can do.

Hello Mary,
I've just been looking through the 1861 - 2 Griffiths Valuations which are contained in the URL below. Only the head of the household is shown. I have doubts that Daniel will appear in Belfast, south Antrim or north Antrim. He should be in East Antrim. http://www.failteromhat.com Griffiths Valuation of Ireland Index Extracts 1848-1864 Alexander Woodside, Ballycor, Ballycor Alexander Woodside, Dock Townparks, Little Corporation Street, Shankill Alexander Woodside, Headwood, Kilwaughter Francis Woodside, Aghnadore, Racavan George Woodside, Carnspindle, Islandmagee James Woodside, Ballygallagh, Ballylinny James Woodside, Ballytober, Carncastle James Woodside, West Street, Carrickfergus John Woodside, Castle Street, Ballymena, Kirkinriola John Woodside, Middle Division, Carrickfergus John Woodside, Tobergill, Donegore John Woodside, Inver. Inver Margaret Woodside, Middle Division, Carrickfergus Mary Ellen Woodside, Ballyvernstown, Glynn Robert Woodside, Revallagh North, Ballyrashane Robert Woodside, Duncansland, Kilbride Robert Woodside, Ballyrickard More, Raloo William Woodside, Inver, Inver 7 Woodsides at Ballynure 4 Woodsides at Derrykeighan 12 Woodsides at Ramoan

Hello,
Was there a Polly in your Woodside family
A barque, made in Belfast in 1885, was called the "Polly Woodside" after the wife of the guy who owned the vessel. http://tinyurl.com/5elvpa
The vessel was built at Belfast's "wee yard" -- Workman Clark & Co Ltd - which was one of the largest British shipbuilders at that time. The owner was William Woodside, a Belfast ship owner, and the ship was given his wife Marian’s nickname, Polly.

Poor old Woodside, S. D That's the way directories and phone books list people. The surname comes first and initials then come in their correct order. If you were writing him a letter he would be S. D. Woodside.

Hello I see that in 2005 you were looking for Daniel Woodside born 1884. Have you found him yet? I think he is related to me. I have found that he was born on 12th January 1884 in Ballycastle Antrim He may have been in Liverpool England in 1898. In 1901 he appears to have been in Scotland. In 1902 he went to visit someome in Philadelphia. USA In 1904 he married in Cornwall, England. In 1911 he was in Cornwall. In 1914-1918 he was in WW1 He became a Merchant Seaman and I have found him on voyages from London to New York and Sydney Australia between 1919 and 1922. I have been trying to find out where and when he died. His father was JAMES WOODSIDE and was a Farmer. I had previously been looking for my WOODSIDE's in Holywood County Down but now that Daniel Woodside has come to light they may have been from Ballycastle (Clare) Antrim. I have just found him on the GREAT WAR 1914-1918 RAMOAN PARISH CHURCH ROLL OF HONOUR. If you have found any more information since 2005 I would love to hear. Regards Pat Berry in Australia

Hello
I replied to the attached message on 22 August 2009 which was 4 years after your message for Daniel Woodside was placed. Have you found out any more about Daniel Woodside as I think he was my relative as well? Some information is in my previous reply. I would love to hear from you.
Regards
Pat Berry in Australia.
