Hi

Just one negative return- there are no DUNNs or variants in the Morebattle MIs book. I don't have the others on your list.

There are, however, DUNNs in Kelso, Roxburgh, Eckford and Crailing & Nisbet(but maybe you know this already!)

Hi CJ

I just checked again, and despite what Borders FHS says, there is no Dunn or variants MI listed in Morebattle. I even checked the war memorial and hearth tax sections just in case- no Dunns.

Hello

the Borders FHS have just finished a new (3rd) edition of the Morebattle MI and having checked the churchyard for this publication, I can confirm that there is a Dunn - WILLIAM INGLES DUNN and his wife LOCKHEART ISABELLA HAMILTON CALDER.  He died in 1908.  The gravestone is a small cross, which is broken from it’s base.  It’s to the north of the church.

I see that you had Smailholm in your original request.  A new (2nd) edition of Smailholm has just been completed as well – there is a gravestone for a MARGARET DUN who died in 1852. She was married to a GEORGE NISBET.

Hope the above is useful
