 Sad I wonder if there is anyone who can help me try to get through a brick wall that I and another Poole researcher have been trying to knock down now for some six years -
Robert Poole married Mary Brindle in Kelston, Som. in September 1750 - the marriage licence says that he is of Kelston but he was not baptised there.   Mary Brindle was bap Barnsley, Gloucs in 1716/1717.  All their children bar one were baptised in Barnsley. The children of the marriage were Robert, Sarah 1754 Barnsley, Thomas 1759 Barnsley and Mary 1761 Barnsley.  Mary snr. is buried in Barnsley, Gloucs aged 48 in 1764.

Robert married again in 1765 this time in St Mary De Lode, Gloucester to Hannah Brain.  There are no known children from this marriage.  Robert was buried in Barnsley, Gloucs.  in 1780 aged 57. 

We know that he lived in Barnsley from 1754 until he died in 1780.  There is a settlement certificate for him regarding his right to reside in the parish of Barnsley, Gloucs . which stated that he could stay in the parish as he held an estate valued at over £10.  This indicates that he was not born there and indeed a baptism cannot be found. 

Obviously all the contiguous parishes have been searched and nothing found.  Is there sks out there who can help knock this wall down?
