I am looking for the Tynan Family, possibly in the Scotland Road or Everton areas of Liverpool. Patrick age abt 45, wife Mary age abt 43. Daughters Jane age 19, Catherine age 15, Ellen age 12, MaryAnn age 11, son John age 10. Patrick & Mary were born in Ireland. In 1861 they were living in Sawney Pope Street, and in 1881 Patrick is widowed and living in Everton. Any help much appreciated. Regards Moya

They are lodging at 41 Castle Green, Sheffield:
Alexandra Kelly Head Unm 41 Lodging House Keeper born Ireland
Mary Kelly Mother Widow 68 born Ireland
Patrick Tynan Lodger Married 42 Glazier Born Ireland
Mary Tynan Lodger married 46 born Ireland
Ellen Tynan Lodger 9 Scholar born Sheffield
I'll have a look for the other children

Hello Ferrett. Many thanks for your help. I don't think this could be the right family, although the names are correct. As you say Jane may have married, the other daughters may have died, but that leaves the son John, and I know he was on the 1891 and 1901 census, so where was he in 1871??? This is so frustrating. Hello Ferrett. Further to my search for the family Tynan 1871 Liverpool. I have come across other records where the spelling of the name has been Tynon and Tymon. Would much appreciate your checking these names out. Many thanks Moya

Have found:
Patrick Tymon 50 born Ireland Head Ashton under Lyne Lancashire
Mary Tymon 45 born Ireland Wife Ashton under Lyne Lancashire
Edwin Tymon 13 born Stalybridge, Lancashire, Son Ashton under Lyne Lancashire
This is the only possibility I've found I'm afraid!
