Mine are all common  Grin Grin

The rarest I've found is Bilby  433   Ranking 12,695  Smiley Smiley

She married an ancestor of mine in the mid 1700's - perhaps I'd better do some research on her it may be easier !!!!!!!!

Think I might have just come accross one of the rarest surnames in England..... Swall.

It is a derivative of Swale and although there are many in the census records most of them are mistranscribed Swales.
They were originally from Kaber in Westmorland and now are centred (if you can centre two!) around North Allerton.
There were 7 in the 2007 electoral register and I am told by a lady who had Swall as her maiden name that there are just 2 now.

Has anyone come across a rarer one?

My maiden name: Rands   1159 (rank 5895). I am a bit surprised by that.
My married name: Felix      1122 (rank 6041). Surprised at similarity to be honest!

when watching Esther Rantzen on WDYTYA she said she was connected to all the Rantzen in the UK - i don't think there are that many. a bit like my Wojciechowskyj  Smiley
