I don't know if anyone will be able to help me here, (but what better place to try than Rootschat).
I am looking for either the 1841 census index or a birth look-up for a George John CURTIS born abt 1820 in Gloucester.
In 1851 (aged 31) he was living at 67 Alvin Street, St John the Baptist, Gloucester City, so it is probable that he was born in or around that area. He was living with his family and was a hairdresser.
It is very possible that his father was George CURTIS, husband of Sarah. In 1851 he was living at St Margaret's Almshouses, London Road, Gloucester City (which I believe is just round the corner from Alvin Street) as an Almsman, late a hairdresser (see the potential link). George was born in about 1789 at St Mary de Crypt, Gloucester.
I don't know if this is enough information for a possible look-up but if anyone does have the resources to do a look-up and needs any further information, I will of course see if I can oblige.
Thanks
Ali

Thank you to both of you for your time.
It certainly does look like George and Sarah are the parents of my George John (hairdresser link certainly helped) and this information has helped to settle a dispute of parentage between myself and a couple of fellow researchers.
Thank you again
