Durham County council are indexing all of their BMD records.

The index is searchable on line and you can order the certificate from the same site for £7.

It's not complete but is really easy to use!

I've used the DCC website a few times now and the marriage details are great.  One of the first if not the first in the country to put records online.  Hopefully more will follow suit!
