I am trying to research my family. Does anyone have information on William Lindsay b.1810 approx who married Agnes Little b1814 they married on 24 April 1835. They had Grace Ewart b1836, John b1837, Catherine b1839 and James b1842.

Thanks again, can you find out any death dates for any of them. James immigrated to NZ not sure what year but before 1865 as he married here in NZ. But don't know what happened to the other children in the family.

Do yoiu have census info?

Thanks I don't have any census records for the Lindsay Family.
Seems strange there is no William the father on the census or a James as James was born 1842.

The presumption then is William is away working?
I've double checked and he doesn't appear on the Lochmaben or the Lochmaben Landward index.
I've also emailled Dumfries & Galloway Council to ask where the census has gone

This does help heaps, wonder whatever happened to Grace the oldest daughter. Will have to try and get some info on cemeteries, maybe the father and daughter died.
