watson help

Hi everyone wondering if anyone can help me please.
My grandmother name was Jeanie watson my have been born
in Aberdeen somewhere in about 1887 I have already spent
a fortune on Scotlands people but always get wrong family
I knew the whole family lived in Aberdeenshire she had a sister mary and a brother James I think there may be more
siblings Jeanie never married my grandfather but I beleive she
did marry someone I also know she died in Glasgow between
1955-1958 but why cant Ifind them Ithink her mothers name
was Marion don t know fathers name can someone please help thankyou Izzy

Hello Izzy,

At what stage did your grandparents get together... and have you ever applied for your grandmothers death cert from the GRO in Edinburgh.. on that certificate you probably would find her parents names, and that at least would give you somewhere to start.

She should appear on at least the 1891 and 1901 census and that would give you any of the family alive at that point.

sadly the death records on line only go to 1954 so can't help you there... but certainly would advise on applying for the cert...

Hallo mo thankyou for your reply I have been to scotland people but none of the Jeanie Watsons are my grandmother in lanark or Aberdeen but she was definately born and died in Scotland I have just found out she had an son in Aderdeen and never married the father the childs name was David Maguire born Aberdeen about 1914-1916 she then went back to glasgow but Idont know if she got married to ? in Aerdeen or glasgow if Iknew her parents name they should be on one of the census 1891-1901.
