Ann Laipeage/Lapidge

Hi

Can anyone help me locate Ann and her family in the 1871 census. She was born in Mexborough, West Riding Yks abt 1849. By 1881 she is married to Charles Ward and has a daughter Caroline b. 1873.

Hi Geoff

There are no Ann Laigeage on the 1871 census, I found found Ann Lapidge, aged 25 working as a servant at a Stradbrook Lodge in  Doncastor. Doncastor was also listed as her place of birth which still makes her a possibility as that is the nearest city to Mexborough and people sometimes gave the general area rather than the exact village.

There was only one other Ann Lapidge in Yorkshire, a 59 year old living alone in Doncastor, could be a relative. Are you sure ann wasn't marries by then?
