Murdoch McKenzie& Barbara Grant

They were married in Gairloch 1814 and their son Murdoch was born in 1815 accordiing to parish records.

I need to find out who MurdochBarbara's parents were. I know they lived in Gairloch, but I need to confirm they are parents of my Murdoch and wife Eliza McLeod who were married in Gairloch in Jan 1849.
I can't find either Murdoch's or Barbara death records

Can anyone help me please?

Hi,

The following info comes from a Gairloch list of BMD someone sent me last year. So it is not official but can help you search in Scotlands People.

The Murdo or Murdoch that married Barbara Grant died 15 FEB 1864 in Mellon Charles, Gairloch. He was a crofter, aged 74 according to informant, William MacKenzie, son. Parents: Hector MacKenzie & Helen (no surname, maybe it is illegible in the original). This death should be easy to find in Scotlands People.

No death for Barbara Grant in my list, but she died before her husband. If this occured before 1855 there will be no record available. Try searching in SP for the period between 1855-1864.

Son Murdo I guess you know married Elizabeth McLeod 6 JUN 1849. Don't spend credits searching for the OPR in SP because it looks like no parents are mentionned.

THank you Francisco for that piece of information. At least I know that Murdo died in Gairloch in 1864. This helps Now I can search for Hector McKenzie and wife Helen.
