Frances Tully was born in 1821 in Ballynakill, Galway, Ireland. She married James Hammond in 1842 in Goulburn, New South Wales, Australia.
She was the great great grandmother of my nephew and niece and I am typing up her biography.
Any interest?
Ros

Hi Ros,
I should have checked before posting the message. Sorry I omitted to mention that you should try a Google Search for Galway Emigrant Index if the URL did not work.

TULLY Frances Arrived 1840 Age 18 Born Ballynakitt Parents Michael / Mary Both dead. . Ship Isabella Known to John Fahey in the colony
There are no J Hammond's in the PO directory in 1875, the closest I could find was in Uladulla. Good luck with your irish search, I finally had to go there, and while I was shortchanged in the fact findings it was a wonderfull place Robraw (Oz)

Hi,
My name is Mike Hales, and I am descended from Francis (nee Tully) and James Hammond. They had many children, and ended up living near the town of Windorah in S-E Queensland, though the town didn't exist when they arrived.
The family owned two large properties in the area, Hammond Downs and Tenham. My grandmother was born on Tenham Station in 1897. Both properties still exist, but are no longer owned by the family.
James Hammond arrived in Sydney in 1828 on the convict transport ship "Bussorah Merchant".
I have more information on the descendants of Francis & James Hammond, but know nothing of her (or his) early life. I would be happy to provide more information if you are interested.
Have you discovered anything more about Frances Tully or her family?
Regards,
Mike Hales

Hi Mike,
I have the biography of Frances Tully which describes her life from her birth in Galway in 1821, her trip to New South Wales, the move to Queensland and then to 1891 when Frances and James Hammond died within a few days of each other.
If you can provide your email I will send you what I have (about 200 pages) and I would be very interested in hearing about your line.
This is the line of my niece and nephew who are the great grandchildren of James Washington Hammond.

Hello Ros,
If you are still interested in Frances & James let me know. Have several documents & photographs that may be of interest- including James' hearing & info on the hulk he stayed on before coming to Australia.
I am assuming the biography you have is the one written by James Abbey?

Hi Gina,
The document I did is by an unknown author. James Abbey has a copy.
This is the line of my nephew and niece the grandchildren of Kathleen Frances Hammond who married Arthur William Brant in South Australia.
If you send me a message (click on my user name) I will put you in touch with Michael Brant here in Western Australia.

To Whom It May Concern,
I see on your site that you have a Tully in the family, so I am going through all the Tully families just to find the right one that is connected to my side of the family tree.
In my family tree I have Rezan Tully and I am searching the Tully and Speechly family, that used to live in India. My G-G-G- grandmother Rezan Tully married G-G-G- grandpa George Speechly about 1857 in India.
Do you have any family members that are related to the above family. As they are in my family tree which belongs to the Speechly side of the family. George's parents were George and Mary Speechly, can you shed some light on this family as I would be most greatful.
I have now hit a dead end, trying to find this family. As I am trying very hard to put a family tree together for my family here in Australia. My father has passed on and left us with no clues at all to his side of this family.
I have searched for this information, and been to every site possible regarding Speechly/Tully Families who lived in India.
Best Regards
Lesley
