Banister in Trowbridge
« on: Thursday 14 April 05 19:42 BST (UK) »

I came to a full stop with the marriage of Elizabeth Banister to Mark Godden in Crowhurst, Sussex in 1813.  Their children were born in Amesbury, so I've looked for a Wiltshire connection.  Elizabeth's birth doesn't seem to be on the IGI.  The nearest I can get is a Joseph Banister Godden, born 1826 in Trowbridge.  Like all my Goddens, he and his family (wife Mary Ann White) moved to Hastings.  Joseph is of the right age to be a child of Mark and Elizabeth; but there were an awful lot of Banisters in Trowbridge and I can't find Joshua's birth or any other evidence to push back Elizabeth and Mark.  Any ideas, please?

Thanks, Alli.  Edward and Elizabeth are the two I know about.  The circumstantial evidence that Joseph was related is very strong, but I can't prove it.
