This is the link for Dumfries & Galloway archives.  In the past they have had problems with it's reliability but it seems better under the new organisation.

Ahh, you mean

http://www.dumgal.gov.uk/historicalindexes/census.aspx - Not working at the moment as you have found Scatza. Hopefully a temporary problem...The whole site seems to be down at present.

Thanks Monica. I did mean http://www.dumgal.gov.uk/historicalindexes/census.aspx -  sorry I didn't make that clear.  I have a sinking feeling that the website has been reorganized and that this might be the end of the "free census" - it hasn't been accesible for over 2 weeks now Sad
