On a general note I think some nonconformist records are held at the NAS under CH3 but many are still held locally.

I know from experience that Catholic records appear amongst the parish church records in Troqueer. What parish is your interest in?

Do you have them on the 1841 census?
There is a David Henderson 15 Apprentice shoemaker not born in county and there is a Mary Ann Ward 15 female servant born in county.
The ages will be rounded but if they look familiar I can get the rest of the families?
Let me know if you want them.

A wee problem with this is that the books (4 to cover Dumfries) are name indexes so I won't catch people of a different surname in the same house. It would be lovely to have these on Excel!

I scanned the rest of the books and couldn't see any other occupants for teh Hendersons. Though it could easily of been missed.

I believe they were both born around 1826 so those ages would be spot on!
