1828 Birth, Ramsgate Kent

Hi from Oz,
According to the death cert. of my gg. grandfather Lewis NATHAN he was born abt. 1828 Ramsgate Kent.
I have just found a NATHAN family in 1841 Census living in Montague St, Christchurch London.  They are Samuel 40 traveller, Edward 17, Abraham 15, Lewes 13, Sanyon?? (male) 11.  All boys were born out of London (I assume Ramsgate, Kent).  I know Lewis's mum died as his dad Samuel remarried in 1845 so maybe that is why there is no female mentioned??
Does anyone have any information on this family or have access to parish registers where they could look up the boys births???
I would be extremely grateful for any ideas or help on this family.

I seem to recall mention of a possible Jewish connection given the names of the family and see that there was a synagogue in Ramsgate from as early as 1833 http://www.jewishgen.org/JCR-UK/susser/provincialjewry/oxfyarm.htm#ramsgate

Although a little late for you, I wonder if the mentioned publication might be of interest.
