I cannot find any Bere Ferrers Parish registers at the Family History Library, and wondered if the only way to search these was to come to Devon, or hire a researcher in Devon? Specifically I am searching for children of John Robjohns (Rabjohn/s) who are listed on census information as being from BereAlston, BereFerrers etc around 1818.
Thanks for any information you are able to provide? Tony Roberts
In case you havent found any info yet these are the ones I have found from the Devon FHS booklet for Bere Ferrers Baptisms
Charles Thomas baptised 15/1/1815. Abode Bereferris Eliza baptised 25/5/1817. Abode Bere Alston Henry Charles baptised 23/5/1819. Abode Berealston. Father Labourer. Louisa Ann baptised 27/5/1821. Abode Berealston. James Nelson baptised 26/9/1824. Abode Berealston
Parents listed as John and Jenny Robjohns and John's occupation is (apart from the entry for Henry) a constable.
There is also rather confusingly a listing for a death of a John Robjohns (buried on 20/2/1828 aged 20. Perhaps a cousin? As there is also a burial listed for the 14/2/1835 of a John Robjohns aged 57 maybe the father of the above?
Marriage for John Robjohns and Jenny Luxmore on 7/10/1805 so on second thoughts the John who died in 1828 may well be one of their early children. The Bere Ferras Baptisms I have got only start in 1813 so there may well be many more children earlier.
